Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Shot 3 rounds of skeet today with the SV10 and I now know I made the right choice.
  2. Well I just purchased a Beretta SV10 Prevail Sporting. Found a good used one at a good price.
  3. I have a Versmax that I shoot 3 gun with and had a lot of ftf with light loads.
  4. I am planning to purchase a shotgun for sporting clays and skeet. I have shot both in the past casually but I am moving to an area with a good club that I plan to join. I have narrowed it down to the Bereta A400 Xcel and the CZ Spotted Standard Grade G2. I have had semi's and an o/u (entry level) in the past but I am struggling to make a decision, any and all advice or opinions is greatly appreciated.
  5. I was thing Lee 38 short/long colt dies with 9mm taper die. Am I over thinking this?
  6. I saw that Lee makes 8 short/long colt dies, anyone tried these or would you recommend them.
  7. I have search this topic and gained a lot of knowledge but also some questions have arisen. Correct me if mistaken but I will need a 38 special sizing die, 9mm powder and seating/taper crimp die. Brand recommendation for single stage press. Here is where I am confused, what size bullets are used. I have seen anywhere between .355-.357 mentioned. I plan to use Berry's or Montana Gold bullets. Please let me know as my 627 should be done next week and I need to order what's needed asap.
  8. I'm looking forward to my first match with it but that will probably be after the new year.
  9. Thanks for the reply, don't know how I missed it on their site.
  10. Well, just received my S&W 627pc. I have ordered an extended firing pin and fiber optic front sight. Was going to order Bowen Rough Country rear sight, but they are on back order due to using a new machine shop, was what they advised. My question is should I wait for these sights or is a better sight available? Parts should be in tonight and headed to gunsmith tomorrow to drop everything off. He will be doing an action job and bobbing the hammer. Have read that some are buying an Apex hammer, but when I look at their sight they are not showing this item. Is this hammer already bobbed? or what would make it better than bobbing the factory hammer? Anything I might have missed to improve this revolver please let me know what you think.
  11. For those that have the DAA Race-Master, will the same insert work for the 625 & 627?
  12. Sorry for all the recent post but I just got into shooting the revolver in USPSA and I am more excited then I ever was in Limited. I just ordered a 627 pc and I have read on here that you can also shoot 38 short colt. My question is why would someone do this, I really don't understand the difference and I am interested in the advantages. If it is an advantage I am going to order some 38sc brass and use it. Please someone explain this.
  13. Just found a 627 and ordered it today from a distributor. Now to get everything ordered to take it to the smith for his touches.
