Sumtoc
Installing the pre-tuned Brazos long ejector on my STI 38 Super. It does not have the cut in the front pin for the retaining pin. Seems odd that it would come this way, so does he intend that these be glued in with red Loctite or something else? Thanks!
Brazos Custom
The position of the pin hole in the frame for the ejector retaining pin is located in a slightly different spot on every frame (also different size holes 1911 vs. 2011). The relief for the pin needs to be cut based on the hole position in your frame. Put the ejector in the frame and make sure it is tight against the frame (completly down as far as possible). Select a punch the same size as the ejector pin hole and use it to mark the ejector leg through the ejector pin hole. Take the ejector out and use a round needle file to file a relief on the ejector leg. You should see a small semi circle mark on the leg for guidance. File until you have enough clearance for the ejector pin to slide past. Make the cut too high rather than too low - a little high and it will pull the ejector down - to low and it will push the ejector up and you will have a gap between the ejector and frame. boz1911
You got the man there. Pre-tuned doesn't imply prefit.

Seth
I don't have one. I just fit the ejector and left it. I can't figure out why it would need to be pinned. Its trapped under the slide.... Am I wrong?
Aircooled6racer
Hello: It is trapped under the slide but it can move up and slow the slide down when ejecting the case. It then will not go into battery I tried it for fun on my STI 2011 I built. It proved that it would fail if I did not install the pin to hold it into place. Thanks, Eric

Its trapped under the slide....Am I wrong? If it's not solidly in place it's going to shift just a little bit each time when the brass hits it. That's going to give you inconsistent ejection. Not so much a problem with your setup using the Quinn mount, but for a gun with a standard mount, it could get ugly quick.
