Hornady Shell Plate Converson for EZ-Ject

Recommended Posts

I just boxed up all my non grooved shell plates to send to Hornady to get the groove cut for the EZ-Ject conversion. I was told it would take 6-8 weeks, say it ain't so! :surprise:

The EZ-Ject kit only took about an hour to install, some of that time went to readjusting the brackets for the Case Feeder. I only tried 45 and they ejected rather nicely since I have the case feeder, without the case feeder they seem to land on the arm that the case feeder slide rides on.

On further reflection, I can't recall if it was returned by UPS or mail. I know I got an email notice that it was being returned, andthe 3 plates came in new boxes inside a padded envelope. I checked my email, but all that has cleared out of the trash long ago, and there have been a passle of packages thru my house over the past few months. Sorry I can't be more exact.

Thanks Ben- I was just curious since sometime UPS misplaces packages... or my wife brings them in and puts them somewhere and doesn't tell me!

Literally as I was about to click reply on this topic my wife sent me a message that UPS just dropped of a box from Hornady. I was about to complain that I sent 3 plates back on 21-Nov via Priority Mail and hadn't gotten anything yet. Apparently there is no longer any need to bitch, but it gives you a timeframe maybe. I would suspect that the machine shop they use lets them stack up and then processes everything they have once every 4-6 weeks.

Look like I'm down for a while. I ordered a shell plate from Dillon so I'll just have to crank up that 650 for a while.

Is it just me I got stuff coming and going everywhere. My weaver scope died sent it off as well, I have frame & slide in the mail to get Acc-u-railed, a barrel going back to Clark to fix the para cut. I'm losing weight going to the post office everyday for lunch.

I'm in shock, I mailed the shell plates Dec 28, I just got an email that the shell plates have been shipped. They are on their way back.

Now that is quick only 2 weeks.

I bet Chris (post 14) is correct... mine were just dropped of today after about 6 weeks.
