Cleaning and Lubricating Square Deal

I like my Square Deal but the manual has sparse (to say the least) instructions on cleaning and lubricating the press. Other than wiping it down I have not really done anything. I load 9mm and will be setting up a .45 conversion kit which will give me access to the shell plate. I assume I will then do some cleaning with something (not sure what) but I am am not quite sure how to clean the powder bar or other mechanism. I use it fairly regularly. Any help with respect to cleaning and lubricating (as simple as possible please) would be much appreciated. Thanks and happy holidays.

Any parts that slide on each other like powder bar and priming system just keep wiped down and dry or take apart and clean with alcohol, but put together dry. Shaft takes engine oil and pivot points take some grease. And not a whole bunch of either. I use amsoil synthetic oil because I can get enough out of the trash at the shop to last forever. I did spring for a small grease pump from snap-on. It has a very fine point on it that fit in the holes at the pivot points. It works so well it will actually change the grease by pushing all the old out. Cost about $25 I think. Again, it will last forever.

Just remember a little goes a long way and don't lube any sliding parts. This all works for my 550B so YMMV.

I've been using Amsoil Syn. ATF as my primary gun/press lube, since the early 80's.

I use their bearing grease for any gun parts that slide. Ditto, on keeping the press parts un-lubed.
