Jman
First, other than the stupid torture test, the best manual out there in my opinion. http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=186 Second, The Glock in Competition by Robin Taylor, available from Brian's store. It's excellent as well. http://www.brianenos.com/store/books.html scroll about a third of the way down Jim edit for typo Edited December 24, 2009 by Jman
Chris Keen
Kevin I have the PTOOMA book if you want to borrow it to read over the sloooooow Winter months. It is the epitome of Glock books. Contains a wealth of information about competition Glocks, and home-defense Glocks as well. Some might even say a "Glock Bible" ... if there ever was one. Nik Habicht
Patrick Sweeney wrote a pretty good book on Glocks too.... Available at Amazon and possibly at your local bookstore.....
Duane Thomas
Second, The Glock in Competition by Robin Taylor, available from Brian's store. It's excellent as well. Just be sure you get the 2nd Edition. The 1st Edition had some problems. For instance, it spent a considerable amount of time talking about IDPA's Major/Minor scoring system. (Note to those who do not already know: IDPA does not HAVE a Major/Minor scoring system. ) Here's a link to my Amazon.com review of the 2nd Edition, about 2/3 of the way down the page: http://www.amazon.com/Glock-Competition-2n...1627&sr=8-

Pezco
Sandman, You are moving to the dark, but dependable side of shooting. I'm sure you'll have less problems with the Glock then the unnamed brand you are currently shooting. If you do a G35, you can shoot Production, L10 and Limited without a problem. Sarge
With all this information available, which is going to list the factory spring rate for every model? My internet search foo sucks. I am lousy at links and stuff but I found the stock spring info on www.parts.cc/glock. I just googles glock specifications and it showed up on the list. And FWIW glockfaq.com has a lot of interesting reading. It even has a reloading section that features an SDB on the opening page. Hope this helps. Pez Hey Ralph, Merry Christmas!I have so many components etc. that I have committed to shooting the 34 in production for the upcoming season or two. My plan is still to have limited gun built down the road but if the 34 proves impressive I might just go the cheaper route and get a 35.
Chris Keen
Very good Kevin. LPatterson
After getting lots of help finding this, I thought I should share from www.parts.cc/glock The factory spring rate for the G17, G17L, G20, G21, G22, G24, G31, G34, G35 is 17 pounds and the factory spring weight for the G19, G23, G32 is 18 pounds. Typically a lighter spring is needed when using a compensator and a heavier spring is needed if your are shooting "stiff" loads.
Sarge
I think the article @glockfaq.com said 22lbs is a good spring weight for the 35 with major loads. That is pretty stout!
lugnut
I think the article @glockfaq.com said 22lbs is a good spring weight for the 35 with major loads. That is pretty stout! Yes that is! With 165PF loads I use 15lb. Much factory ammo is up near 180 I believe.
robin303
If you can go to Barns & Noble the Glock Magazine is out for about $5.00 and they have all the new models in there.
