mpeltier
Caught this last night. They recreate famous shots from all eras. They did Carlos Hathcock's famous thru the scope shot, the Canadian Record holder 1.5 mile shot and a US Marine who filled an alley over in Iraq. I thought they did a pretty good job. It was abit more graphic than I expected. The .50 cal round designed to pentrate concrete walls by an internal explosive shape type charge was very cool. BigTinVA
That was a pretty cool show. I'm glad that I caught it. 16 shots 16 kills in 30 seconds, how bad was that?

I loved the explanation of the holdover on the 1.5 mile shot...
Flexmoney
I had just read the story on the Canadian snipers a few days ago. (they got boned, btw...read about it here <clickity> ) I feel asleep part way through the show and missed the second half. (I think it will re-run)

RufDog
I watched 3/4 of the show & it was G2G but, one has to understand some of the tech comments go well with a grain of salt (duly note: I do not dispute any of the actual events). Overall I say its a must watch if you're interested in that subject. I think every commander can benefit from watching the program to understand what snipers are capable of. bigbrowndog
Flex, its an interesting read, but how much of IT!!! is dramatized for effect????? the writer obviously knows nothing about sniping or guns. "sending a .50-calibre shell -- rocket-shaped, almost as long as a beer bottle"???????????????????????? Its a shame that the accomplishment has been lost in the flurry of bureaucratic BS, and accusations. The show was a good way to spend the night away from holiday concerns, and watching some of the recreations was cool as well. Trapr

"sending a .50-calibre shell -- rocket-shaped, almost as long as a beer bottle"???????????????????????? Well, they probably ought not launch the whole "shell." However, the round/shell does look like a rocket and is about five and a half inches long or so. Maybe the beer was a Baby Bud or a Mickey's Big Mouth.
