pgh george
I can't remove the allen head screw on an aftermarket mag release button. I don't want to use heat - it's on a 2011. I have tried acetone - The allen wrench is reaching the snapping point. HELP
Action Pistolero
If you have two wrenches, heat the end of one till it's red hot. Hold it on the screw for about 10 seconds and use the other wrench to try and turn it. You might be able to get more power to the screw with a driver handle with an allen head bit. I take it that you didn't put this screw in?
pgh george
That would be correct. The screw was installed by the previous owner. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try.
R.Elliott
You could try crazy gluing the screw to the mag button, and then see if you can twist the button to turn the screw. It's worked for me in the past on stripped scope mount screws. Good luck.
