AP reduced range practice

Okay, I'm interested in trying out Action pistol this year.

If we have access to a 50ft indoor rimfire range.

Has anyone worked out the reduced target size and speed for the mover

Are reduced size targets available?

Since I am unfamiliar with the course of fire, not sure if or how to set up a reduced range rimfire practice.

Thanks in advance

Dan,

You'd have to make the centers black, but Speedwell sells the old style reduced targets for 50 ft ranges. There's an illustration of the reduced target at: http://www.nrahq.org/compete/RuleBooks/Action/act-wIllus.pdf

I'm not aware of any mfg that sells the new AP-2, but you should be able to work with the old style ones if you find some 1.12" dots for the X-ring.

Here is a printable 1/3 scale Target. It too doesn't have the bullseye blacked in. What I do is print this, take a black magic marker and fill in the bullseye, then make multiple copies.

NRA 1/3 Scale Tombstone Target

I have also taken the printed version of this and used a copier to reduce it again by 50%. If my calculations are anywhere in the ballpark that is the rough equivalent of 25 yard target scaled down to be used at 3 yards. I use this for dry fire practice. :)

Anyone have any thoughts suggestions about how I'm doing this?
