LarryP Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) I'm considering... filing down the tang on the inside of the grip safety instead of pinning the grip safety (same effect without pinning.) Two questions: 1) If you have done this, would you recommend it? 2) I'm going to buy a functional replacement (Grip Safety) has anyone used a replacement other then the Taurus stock part. Thanks, LP Edited December 11, 2009 by LarryP

LarryP Posted December 17, 2009 Author Posted December 17, 2009 Thanks Scott. I carefully studied how the grip safety blocked the trigger. Then I rounded the bottom corner of the tang that stops the trigger,( just a little.) I reassemble the gun and the grip saftey is disabled. It was very simple. I'll test the gun later today, but dont expect any surprises. I'm a little concerned about not having the safety available, so I think I'll get another stock replacement. Thanks again, Larry

Thanks, LP 1. no, you have essentially ruined that part....can't ever put the metal you took off back.... 2. Yes, not on a Taurus, but there are many nice GS replacements out there....don't bother with the drop-in parts.....I like the Ed Brown, and it's not very difficult to fit properly.... if you are going to buy a replacement GS, I would consider just leaving your stock GS alone, that way if you want to switch back (for re-sale or other reasons) you still have an intact part.... just MHO EDIT : I just noticed that you have already cut it....so too late for what I wrote above....good luck with your mod Edited December 17, 2009 by AriM
