Trijicon TR24 Reticle Choice

I'm not going to be 3-gunning, but from what I've read here, you are the right folks to ask. I've got a 16" LWRC in 5.56, and I shoot on a range at 25, 50, 100, and 150 yards. I'm looking for an optic that will allow me to both perform high speed shooting into silhouette targets at 25 yards, and shoot groups off a bench at 100 yards well enough to evaluate differences in ammunition. If you think that's already too much to ask of one optic, stop me now.

I'm very interested in the TR24, and so basically my question regarding the reticles is which would be the best compromise? Would the triangle be too imprecise for me at 100 yards? Would the German #4 with dot be too slow up close? What is the size of the dot? Is the answer too dependant on the shooter to say?

Am also interested in the Swarovski Z6i 1-6x, because of the greater magnification. How would that reticle work for my application? Does anybody know what the size of the dot is here?

Many thanks,

Joe

I have a tr21 and will be getting a TR24 for my new rifle soon. I use the German #4 reticle with the green dot and love it. You will not be slow at close range! You can use the dot as well as the big fat cross hair posts to frame your targets. I have looked through a Swaro But never shot with one. It's sweet too but you probably don't need the extra magnification and subsequent cost for the ranges you mentioned. If you can afford it though why the heck not?

I have the TR 24 in the green triangle, and it allows for sub MOA accuracy with the point at 100 and 200. I too wanted to try the dot, but Taran told me it was too small to use fast up close, and I trusted that. The triangle has worked for me in both the tr24 and the tr21 before that out to 400, so I stuck with it.

I have the green triangle and I like it for 3-gun but its not the best for shooting dime sized groups. I have tried the yellow German reticle and it is a little more precise for the longer shots and if it fits your eye doesn't give up much for the close range shots and would be my choice for group shooting.
