jdwood Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Hey guys, My name is Jordan and found this forum doing a google search for "Crossfit Levittown, PA" oddly enough. I registered to ask a member here a question about Crossfit in my area and found out what this place really is which is ironic because i just recently bought a SA XD9 Tach. as my first handgun. I have only taken it out a couple of times and definitely need to take some courses. So i figured i would introduce myself and ask where the best place to start learning on this forum is. Thanks, Jordan
dcarter Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Well, first, welcome to the forum. Next, you need to do a search for clubs in your area then go on out and start learning. You can type on that computer all you want and it won't help unless you get behind the trigger. Your pistol is a good one (I would have chosen an M&P but no one is perfect. ). You will probably need to get one or two more magazines for it along with a holster, mag pouches, ear and eye protection and some ammo. Good luck and have fun.
Sarge Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Welcome to the forums! You can learn alot here but I agree there is nothing like trigger time. Good luck.
jdwood Posted December 9, 2009 Author Posted December 9, 2009 Thanks guys. I did already buy 3 additional mags and a bunch of winchester and AE ammo but i do need ears and eyes along with the nonprovided holster. As for Crossfit, yea i know i need to pull the trigger but i was planning on waiting until i'm a little more healed up. Pulled hamstring from soccer season, shoulder from long time ago and stupid bicep. I was working out hard for awhile and i needed a break but i'm sick of not doing anything anymore and need a change!
Tzygä Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Welcome to the forums! This is great place to be.
Duane Thomas Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Jordan, welcome to BrianEnos.com. You're in the right spot, the BEginners Forum was intended specifically to give new members a place to enter into the site that might be a tad less intimidating than simply flinging themselves onto the forum headfirst. Having said that, please feel free to check out the board. Believe it or not, back in 2001 it was only six forums, and has since swollen to the monster you see before you now. Also feel free to use the Search function, it's a great time saver to go right to multiple threads that might already have info on topics that interest you. Feel free to chip in to such threads, or start one of your own if you can't find what you're looking for. Again, welcome.
3quartertime Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 back in 2001 it was only six forums You can remember that?!! I just remember how much it sucked when we started to have to scroll to see the whole home page! lol... Ditto on the welcome!!!
Chris Keen Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Goto www.uspsa.org and click on the map of the U.S. That should help you find local clubs in your area. Then look around the Beginners Forum here for some good starting info. Then be sure and check out the Training & Fitness forum here for some good stuff about crossfit. Many of our own members are doing it. Give it a try. I'm sure they can start you at a pace that's more fitting for a beginner, or a lesser weight. Just like we do with practical shooting.
