How to stop a Benelli

<_< So I figure  Lithium Grease always worked on my other guns  And even though Benny said > "No,no, only use 10-30 synthetic just like the 1911" <

I have to over think <_< I my pee size brain says "your 1911 ran on Lithium" And sure enough my Benelli will run at 65 -100 degrees with Grease in it on the cam & bolt spring.

But! !!! But with fresh Slide-Glide and 40 Deg. at Fort Benning  the Benelli will not fire with grease packed in the firring pin hole. :o:( me being slow in the brain I figure this out on my second shotgun stage.

I will post a video of the 60 seconds for me to get 9 shots out of my gun.

If Benny Hill says "use this -or- do this" .....DO It!

The Slide Glide is great , but not in Benelli shotguns bolts and cams, it drops down on the firring pin & spring and keeps the firring pin from hitting the primer with proper force.

<_< But thats OK ? I learned something.....? Rite?

Sorry to hear that...I don't always listen to what I'm told.

But when Benny said Mobil1 10w30...and run it dripping wet...I do...and it does.

It is probably my fault Jamie...for not being there to tell you better!

yep thats it Your fault

My last stage on Friday was #2 the gun only failed one time but that cut my score by 1/2 Saturday on Stage #4 was the time eater That Click is the loudest thing

 Click! -rack Bang...Click! rack Bang ...Click rack Click rack Bang.

I was throwing a good round out of the gun every time and had to figure out what one was a slug and what was shot.

I had such a good time on stage #3 that I did not louse my cool on stage 4

Jole the Striker Ride was cool = it went air-born on an off road track in the trees

Man that sucks. Now you know why we say to listen to the short, fat bald guy. I soak it til it drips with castrol syntec. I never understood why anyone would put grease in a gun anyway. Now I have something else to pick on you about. :roflol:

Some guns get grease, M1 rifle comes to mind, because put oil in an M1 and oil will spray back in your face (BTDT).

Some years back, I got the speech from Benny when my guns running with Slide Glide in warm weather did not run in cold weather. And those mornings at Benning were cold. So, Mobil 1 now.

I humbly bow to Benny's expertise and knowledge, but have been using Mercury (outboard) Quicksilver 2 cycle racing oil in all 3 guns.... it dissipates carbon ...and worked at 27 degrees Sat morning... just take the shells out of the side saddle and load off the arm band and shoot the 1oz not the 7/8 oz slugs

I was curious to find out what the problem was. I have never seen a Benelli jam like that before. First a jamming Benelli, then you must have lost a bet and had to wear that funny hat. You had a bad weekend.

Hee Hee!

The thing is ... B) I am so Cool I get away with a hat like that

Les the gun would cycle but the firring pin would not set the primer off , so I would have to rack the bolt to chamber a new round, each time the hammer fell a round would jump on to the feed ramp and keep me from feeding a new round in the tube, until I racked the bolt. on stage #4 I had preloaded with 3 shot 3 slugs 3 shot

I was lucky to get out of the stage with only one target not engaged.

And I was wearing a silly hat too :goof: warm, but silly
