Big Shooter Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Brought a tear to my eye. Will probably never see anything like it again.
GentlemanJim Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Well I fear it can only get worse than it is now. It seems like a distant life I lived....when gas was well under a dollar a gallon You should have that reciept bronzed...and put it with your baby shoes Jim
Jim Norman Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I can remember paying around twenty cents a gallon. Yes, that is $0.20 per There were thre stations on the same corner of Olden Ave and Pennington Road in Trenton NJ back in 1971/2 that decided to have a war of attrition. I also remember about the same time that most were selling gas for about $0.35 and people would pull in and get $5.00 worth and often we couldn't fit it all in! Try that now. Then again I think that I was making about $4/hour, a lot is relative. My first house bought in 1976 cost me 27k, it recently sold for near 300k! Should have kept it and rented it out. Jim
AlamoShooter Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 in the 70s ...That is 1970s gas made a spike and many gas stations had fuel pump gages that could not go over $0.99 cents per gallon So they sold it at 1/2 gallon for 0.55 cents

gm iprod Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 $5 worth of gas would not even wash the grime of the inlet pipe in the tank. We are paying $4.6 US a gallon here. That is $1.70NZ per litre total to fill the truck is about $220 local $, or $154US
