G-ManBart Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 So tonight after dinner we were finishing our wine and watching a little TV in our finished basement/family room. We have a really cool wine cellar off this room and my office is there as well. The one issue is that it doesn't have an exit of any kind....not a huge fan of that, but at least it's not an entry for folks to break IN to. The wifey says "if we're going to spend more time down here you're going to have to stash some heavier artillery around". I sort of look at her like "did you say what I think you just said?" and before I can reply she says "how many guns are down here?". I tell her it's just the one in my pocket (Kahr PM9). She says "that's not enough, maybe you should keep your AK down here"....LMAO......I about fell over! Obviously, about two minutes later I was loading up a couple of mags for it
Neomet Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I got one of those (not the AK). A very rare find. You are quite the lucky man!
WRanger Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 (edited) I wish mine would say that more often. Feels good, doesn't it?! My wife, Miss T, is an open gunner and shoots three-gun with the boys (she's really good with shotgun speed loaders). For Valentine's Day one year, I gave her diamond earrings and a new pistol. I think she liked the pistol better. Only thing is... when I buy a new gun, I have to buy her one, too. Not a bad problem, I guess. Edited December 8, 2009 by WRanger
L-10_shooter Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 That would be an enjoyable experience. She does have a good point, you could get trapped and out gunned down there.
nm3gnr Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Way to go Laurie, She is on the right track ! Why have one (gun) when you can have two at the ready. Knowing her, she would be dissappointed if something happened and you where the only one that could shoot back, lol
Johann the Horrible Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Got chewed out by my whife a week ago for not cleaning my HK P7 often enough. "We spent a lot of money on that gun and you should take better care of it." Kind of humiliating when it comes the spouse.
MichiganShootist Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 You're a lucky guy. After 36 years.... mine still thinks one gun is one gun too many. I carry 99% of the time and she has just learned to ignore it like I often ignore her;)
SA Friday Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 That's a damn good cop's wife you have there G.
Chris Keen Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 G-Man, dont you live on an Island? I've never seen this island you live on, but I'm not sure you have a very high percentage chance of being invaded when you're surrounded by water.
JFlowers Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 When I got married, I only owned 1 pistol... an old K-frame Model 10 in 38 Special. At that time I had just started the process of moving my spending money from early-20s boozing to mid-20s gun buying. I had a friend who was a retired police officer, so I asked him to teach her basic gun safety and shooting. Darn, I miss that gun! 20 years later it is still her night stand gun. She has tried many others, but that K-frame just fits her well and she likes it so who am I to complain. A couple of years ago she asked what it was loaded with and advised me that she would feel better if it was loaded with more powerful hollowpoints...... Yes Ma'am!
JeffWard Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Most guys have a "3-date rule". I do too. My 3-date rule, is a shooting range date, by the 3rd date. If she passes that date, the the "other" 3-date rule kicks in. Funny how they often have gone hand in hand... Many of my ex's now pack heat. Most owned one before they met me. One of 'em had a 44 Mag... I miss her. Jeff

I've never seen this island you live on, but I'm not sure you have a very high percentage chance of being invaded when you're surrounded by water. LOL.....very true, but Canada is just a solid driver (okay maybe driver, 7-iron) away at the closest point and you know those sneaky Canadians Funny thing, we've had two bank robberies over the years. Both times the banks called 911, the 911 folks called the bridge operators and had the bridges turned so there was no escape...caught the bad guys in a couple of minutes!

Hmmm, let's see what we've learned from the above: Wait until the resident G-man is off the island, then have an escape plan that doesn't involve the bridges...... Nah, it still won't likely pay. I do have Public Enemies sitting in my viewing queue.....

Caspian_45 Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Hey thanks for the reminder. I just noticed that I don't have one in the bathroom. I have one of those wives too. She loves guns too.

A helicopter might be a good plan. LOL...yeah, but you'll have to wait for the whole family to go out of town or you'll be dragging one very mad (and mechanically attached) female brown dog with you
gose Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Yeah, can't believe too many wives would say that... I mean, how many of us have wives that prefer AKs to ARs?

A helicopter might be a good plan. This time of year, ice skates would be better! Mackinaw, right? Won't be there long, too damn cold!
G-ManBart Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Yeah, can't believe too many wives would say that... I mean, how many of us have wives that prefer AKs to ARs? Actually, she shot my M4 very well, and liked it, but it was a bit heavy for her (she's tiny). She seemed to like the MP-5/10 (10mm) the best. Sadly, they won't give me an extra one for her

I've never seen this island you live on, but I'm not sure you have a very high percentage chance of being invaded when you're surrounded by water. It is not being invaded by water but the 2 roads leading to Dearborn and Detroit is only a hop, skip and a jump away with some really high unemployment. When I was a Michigander we considered Grosse Ile as the luxury home site for auto exec's.
Chris iliff Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 You know this already, that kind of wife is called a "KEEPER". I know as I got one of those myself.
G-ManBart Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 You know this already, that kind of wife is called a "KEEPER". I know as I got one of those myself. for both of us!!!
J-Ho Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I am disgusted by this post. Your wife suggests you need more guns in the room and you move guns from one room the the other????? You just wasted a perfectly good open to get a new gun!!!
