mlmiller1
What are you guys using for pasters on slug holes? I traded a guy for a roll of tape once that was a little over an inch wide. He said "we bought it somewhere" but didn't know where. It worked great but it is gone now & I need something else for matches. I saw that Alco had some 2" tape but that seems sort of overkill somehow. Any ideas? MLM
Chills1994
Yeah, I got some packaging tape/masking tape somewhere that was brown just like a paster and was about 2 inches wide. It worked perfectly. Plain ol' packaging tape from the 3M company works fine. the color matches with the carboard okay, the only downside is that it is plastic and is kinda shiney. You can usually get the 3M brand brown packaging tape with a a dispenser that has a blade to cut the tape. That works okay. I am just a little skiddish of cutting up my fingers or hands before I shoot a stage.
StealthyBlagga
Two pieces of regular tape, side by side. Edited December 7, 2009 by StealthyBlagga
LPatterson
Take a piece of target with a slug hole in it to Lowes or Home Depot and find the color & size to match. 2" tape sounds about right because if the targets get inside of about 30 yards there will be wad holes to patch. Dan Sierpina
The Target Barn has 1" and 2" wide patching tape. McMaster Carr has tan carton sealing tape in 1", 1 1/2", 2 " widths. 1" would be the bare minimum in width. Mr Patterson is correct about the wad hole on closer targets, they're much larger than the holes from the slugs. chendersby
You can get 2 inch wide brown tape at Uhaul locations. Same color as the targets.
mlmiller1
Thanks guys. Looks like the 2" wide tape will be the easiest to get hold of. I appreciate all the replies! MLM
Charles Bond
Take a piece of target with a slug hole in it to Lowes or Home Depot and find the color & size to match. 2" tape sounds about right because if the targets get inside of about 30 yards there will be wad holes to patch. Using scrap paneling as backers on slug targets will prevent wad holes. Yes it is a little more trouble but over the course of the match by not having to paste the wad holes, but by the time you finish the match it is something that will save you a bunch of time.
