Duane Thomas
Since it seems, for the forseeable future, we're not going to be seeing any new Glock-pattern Airsofts, I better get pretty darn good at maintaining the one I have. Anyone know where I can buy spare parts, especially for the magazines - valves, O-rings, replaceable feed lips, floorplates, etc. - for an HFC Glock 17? kevin c
I think the overseas sites in Hong Kong and Taiwan carry parts. Not everything is available. I was actually advised by one maven to just order another mag for my HFC, and keep the leaky one to cannibalize for other parts.
Duane Thomas
I've got a couple of leaky mags from which I'm doing exactly that. I'd just like the parts to turn them from spare parts suppliers into actual magazines.
Flyin40
I've got a couple of leaky mags from which I'm doing exactly that. I'd just like to be able to turn them from spare parts suppliers into actual magazines. And have a few spare parts besides. Here is some info on leaking mags Hello, "Trucs et Astuces" (sorry I'm not able to translate) One of my magazines was leaking from the bottom. A friend from a French forum has explain to me that often the gas leaks resulted from the "square seal" (part 217)inside the magazine. It was the correct diagnostic : there was a fine score on the seal. To correct this : just put, with care and accuracy, teflon ribbon around the seal. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Thanks for the tip. I've also had good luck sealing leaking mags by using a heavy dose of silicone grease on the rubber seal. The seal takes a lot of beating from dropping mags. Admin I just noticed that one of my mags is hissing and leaking at the bottom. Whats the best way to deal with itFlyin It depends Flyin40...It could be the valve or the seal, try checking them both. I took the mag apart and the o-ring on the bottom of the mag where you put in the Green gas is messed up. Where do I get these at???Thks Flyin Flyin40,A small leak can be "cured" by simply tightening the screw at the base of the mag that holds the mag together. If the leak continues, you can take the mag apart and apply some of the fixes mentioned above to the gasket that seals the mag pieces together (I've found that silicone grease works well for this). It's pretty rare to have a leak around the inlet valve, unless it is loose. If you need to replace any of the magazines metal parts, you'll find that some of the parts cost nearly as much as a whole new magazine. If you need one of the more expensive parts, I would recommend buying a new mag and using your old one for spare parts. Admin
Rocket35
Dave have you checked with Evike? I know they don't list Glock stuff on the website. But Eric said to call in and order through him for now. Seems to be some sort of copyright thing going on with all the Glock stuff.

Duane Thomas
Thanks for the info, guys. I like the silicon grease idea. I wonder if Wilson Ultima-Lube "white grease" which is lithium based would work. It's what I used on the valve O-ring on a mag I mentioned in a different thread that had a slow leak around the valve, since a BE.com member in that thread recommended lithium grease, and that cured the problem there. I wonder why greasing the valve produces a gas-tight seal. Grease doesn't strike me as something that could stand up to much in the way of gas pressure. Also the teflon ribbon idea definitely goes in the memory banks. I've never heard of teflon ribbon before. What is this stuff and for what is it normally used? Sam
Duane, grease is what we use to seal the big natural gas pipeline valves. Some of the high pressure grease is almost like a plastic at atmospheric pressure. Pressure is usually expressed in Pounds Per Square inch, at least here in the states. If you a have a scratch on an o-ring or seat that is .002 inches deep, that is a very small area. If the container is pressurized to 1,000 psi, there would be (1,000 X .002) 2 pounds acting on the area of the scratch. That amount of pressure can be contained with grease. Try plugging a big hole with grease, you end up wearing most of it.

Flyin40
I haven't tried the teflon ribbon. My first mag was leaking and it ended up it just needed tightened down. This past week I had a mag leaking and just put some All weather grease I use on my Open gun. I just put a small strip around the seal at the bottom of the mag and also around the oring on the intake valve. The mag doesn't leak any longer. Anon
...Shipping is murder from Hong Kong.... It can be as much as 50% of the cost of your order. That said, I've ordered from Hong Kong and California on the same day. The HK shipment arrives MUCH sooner, and the total cost is still cheaper that US suppliers (IF you can even find the parts through a US supplier). With Rocket35 being connected with Evike.com, I will now choose them first, when looking for parts. I've already had good experiences with airsplat.com, cobraairsoft.com. The following information I don't have first-hand knowledge about, but I thought I'd add it to this thread (it's from "Admin" over at AAPS, who has ordered from all these sites): Shipping to the U.S. usually takes no more than 4 days. Some vendors accept PayPal payments directly and a few others will send you a quote followed by instructions for paying by PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account, you may need to get one as several of these sources do not take credit cards.
