I love getting to the range, entering an empty bay and finding hundreds of just fired .45 ACP brass like I did today! Oh, doctor! Thanks to whoever left them there.

Yes that is a good feeling. I went to the local range as a CCW class was just ending. You know the rest.

I was setting up a match stage in Bay 1 at Circleville at some point last year. Somebody had shot through a half case of Lawman the day before. I got the stage set up quickly ... and missed the shooter's meeting while scavenging brass. Fortunately (for me), the shooter(s) had stayed in about the same spot the whole time. It was all in a 10 square foot area (and, believe me, I checked) :D !

YOU MISSED THE SHOOTERS MEETING ?????????

However did you manage to shoot the stages without someone telling you how to run each stage, and to watch the 180?

A whole bunch of years ago I went to the Air Force range just out of town to get some practice in with my Army Reserve issue M14. The firing line was littered with .30 Carbine brass (it was a long, long time ago). Being the nice guy that I am I policed up all the brass. But I needed something to carry it all in as my cap was just a wee bit too small to hold all that brass. So I went looking for something bigger. Found a 5 gal. bucket and found out that it was already half full of carbine brass. It was almost full when I got done. I've still got several ammo cans full of reloads, the rest I managed to give away over the years.

That's awesome, as you probably know the .30 carbine proved itself in WWII as a de facto assault rifle, I'd take one any day.

A buddy called me on his cell as a two day MagPul class was ending and it was steamy hot, no one felt like picking up brass- so I went over with a bankers box and filled it to the top with .223/5.56. I've never counted it but I estimate about 4 or 5 thousand rounds. Anyone know how many cases approx. per lb of .223 brass? I could weigh it for a good estimate.

Still sitting in a cabinet in my garage, I don't load .223 any more, just 7.62x51 and 6.5G and .45ACP.

Being the first one on the range after a two day County Sheriff quals fixed my 9mm brass problem for the rest of my life about ten years ago. Most depts around here are more careful about picking up their brass now after someone offered them some bucks for the empties. Glad to hear that folks still run into fine pickins.
