I hate screwing up classifiers

Aahhhh! Strong arm after reload and shot it freestyle. 60 pt. penalty . S#it, Sh*it

always hate being a goof on a stage..but take it and learn. work on the pre-stage planning and burn the right way into your previsualization.

even the simplest stages need their respect.

Can't remember exactly where it happened in the classifier, but I started shooting and suddenly, couldn't remember if it was strong hand only or not...so I shot strong hand only. It wasn't. Sure, no penalty and I was zeroes, but it was still a brain fart.

My screw up (same classifier) came in the last stage. One round in the chamber and I let the mag fall to the ground and left it there...then did it again. Have NEVER made that error ever before.

I'd have to read the rules to see why got nailed 60 pts though...I'm fuzzy on when you get spanked just once for multiple infractions and when you get smacked for each one.

I did the same thing, once. Pretty dammed embarassing. Not sure which was worse, the RO standing there shaking his head or the roar of laughter from my squad mates.

I feel your pain.

It used to be a miss for me on a classifier would cause it to be an unusuable one. Well now my shooting has progressed to the point that if i get a miss it will still end up being a lower C class. Earlier in the year i had a few classifiers that i had misses on and figured "no biggie, they wont count anyway." Imagine my surprise when i think i've got B class locked up and i have 3 classifiers in the high 40% and low 50% and three in the mid to high 70% so my overall is 57%. Still in C class. And just to get to those low ones i have to go through 2 of my high ones. So i don't think there are enough classifiers left in the season up here to clear out the rubbish before winter comes. Now i know. If i miss on a classifier, i better plug the no shoot once or twice just to make sure it don't count...The only problem with that is i never look for holes so if i have a miss it's too late to do anything about it. <_<

So much for the "you can't miss fast enough theory"....

Saturday, 8 Aug 2009 - a day that will live in infamy. It was going to be my first match shooting Limited. I was delayed and got to the range just in time to get squadded. Had to rush to get my stuff together. And the first stage was the classifier. And not one of those "take a deep breath and squeeze the trigger" classifiers that I usually see - this had barricades and poppers in front of a no shoot and all kinds of stuff. Here is a description:

CM 99-27 Lefty's Revenge

Standing behind table facing targets, both thumbs hooked into belt at the center of the waist. Loaded gun is lying flat on X in center of table with muzzle downrange as per ready condition in rule 8.1.1 and 8.1.2. It may not be propped up by any artificial means.

Upon start signal, from behind table A, engage only T1-T3. Move to barricade and from Box B, engage only T4, T5, PP1 and PP2. Move to low wall and from Box C, through Port D, engage only T6-T8. "Behind table" will be considered as anywhere between the rear two legs of table.

Go look it up - I didn't even know such beasts existed. Well, I don't need to tell you what happened - the buzzer went off and off I went. It was ugly. I just hope it ends up as a 0 and doesn't count or it's going to take me several really good ones to make up for it. <sigh>
