DyNo!
I'm wondering if this is the direction Kyle had in mind when he started this thread..... Could he have been thinking about circumference instead? You didn't mention crimp... Some aren't crimped... You can always trim the case a little bit. Edited September 13, 2009 by DyNo! Skjold
Your load data is useless if......you don't include... ...a specific gun (or barrel twist rate). (my experinece with rifle loads) Edited October 7, 2009 by Skjold
AriM
my "load" data is kept in a vault at a certain type of bank, they say they will pay me more if I have a Doctorate....maybe I can use that extra money to work up some new "re-loads"....just think, the more I get paid, the more I can re-load, the more I can shoot my loads....and then I can work on, how fast I can shoot my loads....man this could be fun.... AriM
Some folks shoot blanks...... is that an admission?? In the movies they shoot a lot of blanks, but not in the kind I like to watch....
noylj
Trying to dig out of the swamp, I am amazed how seldom reloading manuals specify COL. They are, I think, getting better at it. However, COL really is up to the individual reloader and what he or she prefers and has found to work best with their gun.
Justsomeguy
My COL was trimmed years ago to allow the hollow point to achieve better expansion and penetration in the test media.

fudd
You guys are nuts but I am loving it. Just went out to reloading bench and found some blue powder on it. Any idea what it could be??? That's right don't have a reloader yet. My wife must of found my stash of Viagra, Damn.
jaffo
At least no one has mentioned a "failure to fire"...
Edubya
At least no one has mentioned a "failure to fire"... An occasional "Failure" is acceptable if it is a "reload". EW
r6533
This thread has caused me to bust a gut. I am continually amazed and entertained by the wit of so many gun-related thread contributors. Keep 'em coming.
ChrisMcCracken
I wonder what might constitute a double charge or a Kaboom? Its also important to go with the full metal jacket to prevent fouling of the barrel and to make sure your lead goes unscathed.

usmc0326
Your load data is useless if... ...you don't include your Overall Length (OAL) Be useful. Useless if you don't list bullet weight, bullet type (rn, fmj, jhp), Bullet composition (Lead, jacketed, plated), Mfg, OAL, powder. (Can we standardize this on the forum? That would be nice) Brass (mixed or x head stamp) , primer, velocity, pf, accuracy, range, temp, DA, test method, crimp type and degree would be nice to have if known. pops1982
What kind of primers are you using? Video primers, or Magazine primers? Inquiring minds want to know. Both primer options work equally well as long as you use dillons recommended lubrication procedures.

pops1982
One assumes that you then cannot pass a "plunk" test ?? Steve RA, You’re right, I failed the plunk test. I had to force it and I noticed that I was hitting the rifling but in this particular case failing the plunk test is a good thing.
