poke_53
I am trying to find load data to use clays to load my .357 sig and I cannot find anything. Does anyone have a load for this or is it not safe. If not safe let me know why. Thanks
PhotoRecon
I don't have the 357 Sig but several friends do. They're using Longshot or AA#9. I would guess that Clays is too fast for a high performance cartridge like the 357 Sig. I didn't check www.hodgdon.com but I would guess if they don't list show a for it then its not a good choice. Regards... Edited May 10, 2009 by PhotoRecon
Pigdawg
I dont load for Sig but just from what I read on this board about Clays and the pressure spikes on compressed loads due to bullet set back I would find something different to use for Sig. If not safe let me know why. Thanks Clays is NOT suitable for 357Sig. A good friend of mine mistakenly substituted Clays for Universal. One shot kaboom, HiPower 357Sig destroyed. Luckily no one was injured. I was standing 15 feet behind him, scared the crap out of us. Regards, Kirby
MoNsTeR
I'm sure you could make it work, but only for light loads. I'm also sure that you won't find any published data for this combination. If I were going down this road, I would use the available 9mm data as a (very rough!) starting point, and proceed with extreme caution.
