ironb
I got a PM asking me to ship/sell my hi-cap STI to someone in California. I was under the assumption that this is illegal. Am i mistaken?

jkrispies
Not to sell. (I'm not giving legal advice here because I'm not 100% certain, but I think that as an out-of-state citizen coming from a state that allows them, you can bring them into the state temporarily for sporting purposes.) In Cali you can only buy/sell handguns that are on a state approved list. I believe that the only STI-ish gun on that list is the Bar-Sto BS40. yoshidaex
Svi in 45 ACP is also on the list. If the buyer in Kali is a LEO, shipping it to their FFL dealer is good to go.
ciscoip
Of course, don't forget that Cali requires those shipping to a FFL in Cali to register with the CA DOJ.
warpspeed
Of course, don't forget that Cali requires those shipping to a FFL in Cali to register with the CA DOJ. WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG Please do not quote CA laws incorrectly. We have enough problems as it is. I just went through all this with a person in FL who thought the same thing. In fact, his ad said that he would not ship to CA. After a very short discussion, he said no problem. The gun is now on its way to me. Legally. If you want to know anything about California gun laws, go to calguns.net. There is no law requiring a private citizen ( non-FFL holder ) of another state to register with the CA DOJ. NONE.
