randy01
I'm thinking about putting a fastfire on my AR on the Larue Ring mount. Is there anybody on the forum that has experience with this mount is it OK or is it to high and away from the bore axis?
smokshwn
Although Larue makes great stuff IMHO the Burkett mount or one of the 45 degree offset mounts is much easier and faster to use for the secon optic.
busyhawk
What smokshwn says in the LaRue stuff is top of the line products! This mount is not really made for what 3 gunners do, it can work but I believe thier are better products out there. I use the Matt Burkett also but I believe they are not avalible anymore??? This LaRue dot mount was requested from the "Sniper" shooters for: #1. When they see a target they can use the dot to get the rifle pointed the correct direction and then move to the 10X plus scope and enguage/watch thier target or, #2. When a closer target moves into view and they are on 10X plus they can still enguage without much problem. They don't turn thier rifle at an angle as we are known to do... Hope this helps, RLTW, Scott
busyhawk
Update, WWW.JPrifles.com has the Matt Burkett mount as well as the JP rail offset adapter...these might just be the ticket... Hope this helps, RLTW, Scott
uscbigdawg
The AMS Machine 45 degree mount and JPoint/Docter mount is another option too. It's definitely strong to handle work in Afghanistan. Rich
