Richard Bumpus
The new SDB spent primer catch system will not allow attaching the machine to a bench that is more than 3" thick. Tech support is supposed to be finding an older style set up for me but it's been 5 days and I haven't heard a thing. I may have to return it and try another brand of progressive loader. Just remove the primer catch and place a small trash can under the press to catch the primers. This is much better than changing to a LESSER press. Dan Hefta
I have had very good service from Dillon, I love my SDB. I think you would be making a mistake if you don't stay with Dillon. I just use the primer catcher that came with the press. Good luck
North
I simply cut a "chunk" out of my bench to allow the press to function. They also have the strong mount for you to use as well. Edited April 21, 2009 by North
45junkie
I may have an old style SDB primer catch that is complete. I will check when I get home and let you know. If I do in fact have one you can have it at no charge.
jfrey
Keep the SDB. Getting rid of it would be a large mistake. Get the strong mount instead and load happily there after.

kimel
I had my SDB bench mounted for awhile thinking I was saving some bucks and then decided I needed to try the strong mount after reading a bunch of stuff here. Definitely a must have. Get the strong mount and never look back. It's money well spent.
Richard Bumpus
I have an older SDB that I use for 45ACP. I can't use the strong mount because of physical problems. After building a bench with an 8" thick top I didn't want to whack a big chunk out of it. They found an older model SDB and are taking the needed parts off it to make my setup work. Thanks for the encouragement.
