cookselk
I'm trying to settle on a bullet to reload in my 9mm Glocks. There are some criteria for my bullet: 1. It must of course give me the best accuracy possible. 2. It must function reliably. 3. I must be able to use it in my 38 supers. 4. I would prefer a 120-125 grain jacketed bullet. 5. It must be economical. I'm thinking about the Montana Gold bullets, either the 121 IFP, 124 FMJ, the 124 CMJ, or the 124 JHP. What are your experiences with regard to accuracy? I wouldn't rule out the 115's or the 147's. However, I would prefer the 124 over the 115 if I were to be loading for USPSA Major. Also, I once had a bad experience shooting 147's in a 9mm Carbine (stacked several bullets in the barrel ). I'm sure I can keep those separate if need be. A good friend of mine swears by Ranier 147 fp's in his Glock and they shot well for me too. What are your thoughts? Thanks. Darrell
Here is some data that might help you. If you do a search for my post, you'll find way more spreadsheet data for loads I worked up for 9mm and .
Viggen
Right now it's not what you prefer but what you can get. Which of the bullets you mentioned can you get a hold of? Whatever they are, run them and test for accuracy. If you can get Montana Gold's get them and see if they are accurate in your gun. MG's are accurate in everything I haver ever shot them in. Graham Smith
Best accuracy possible plus economical don't always mix. Hornady HAP bullets (.356) are made for 38 Super but can be loaded in 9mm. MG 121 IFPs are 9mm (.355) but can be used in 38 Super. A lot of people like the MG 121's, myself included. But I can't tell the difference in accuracy between a really good bullet and a hunk of pot metal, so don't use me as a guide.
Rolex
I have had great luck with the Zero 125JHP- using TrueBlue 5.5gr. In my G34. Use the same head in my 9mm open gun/ just more powder!
SA Friday
I would also say Zero JHP 125's, but you might have to sell your soul to get them regularly.
G-ManBart
What are you using them for? Are you shooting Production with your Glocks using Minor loads and Open with your .38 Super using Major loads? In Production more folks are using the 147s than anything else and they are very soft shooting. .38 Super Open almost nobody is using anything heavier then 125. The one that would be a reasonable compromise all around would be the 124 JHP. You can load it pretty soft for 9mm Minor as well as fast for Major in Super.
