The traveling Single Stack box

kgunz11 was kind enough to ship "The Box" which measures your single stack with magazine. kgunz11 would like to make this a traveling box and have it delivered from shooter to shooter with the last person picking up the shipping. I was lucky enough to be the first one kgunz11 shipped it to and now it's my turn to "pay it forward".

So...who would like to be next in line for "The Box"? BTW, it's made of wood and very well constructed.

Just PM me your address and I'll ship it once I get back from Area 6 or I could bring it with me if you you're first and happen to be going to Area 6.

I know that was designed to be very close to the IDPA box, but how close is that to the IPSC box? I am wondering if my LTD gun is going to be legal for IPSC STANDARD division later this year  and I dont know where to find an IPSC box.

If you do bring it to Area 6, please look me up. I'm pretty sure mines OK, but it never hurts to double-check.

If I'm not mistaken the IDPA box, which I have, is a touch short on length. So if it fits the IDPA box it will fit the USPSA box. I don't know if the IPSC box is the same or not though.

What are the published dimensions of "the box"? ...I assume it's in the rules.....dang, I'm going to have to get up and look through them.

Love the "Commie" referance Chuck. ;)

I got that from a PhD at the University of Wisconsin Linear Accelerator a long time ago. He had a plaque on his wall that said:

"Fight the Metric System: We don't need no foreign rulers" :roflol:

Chuck

I saw that but figured there is no way USPSA would publish a box size that went out to the 1/2 thousandths, therefore I figured what I was looking at was measured, not published???

I once looked up the dimensions in the rule book of choice...then used the corner of my bench and two pieces of tape to mask out the interior length and width of the box. (And, once you place your gun on the bench...you can use your calipers to check height.)

Nope, nothing was measured. IDPA and USPSA had fractional measurements and IPSC had metric. I just turned the fractional to decimal and did a cross matrix of metric <-> english. The 4 decimal places was due to the fact I think I had been calculating hit factors in excel before. 0.0005" doesn't mean much when you are squishing your Bomars to get the gun in the box...

I am still confused on why you have to "get up" since all the published box dimensions are on line?

Chuck

...get up to get my paper copy. I knew where the hard copy was and didn't want to spend the time to search. Yeah, I'm lazy...at least today I am. Thanks for the info.
