D__
Curious if an Benelli M2 Tactical with 18.5" barrel is going to be good for 3 Gun. Just getting into the game. 3G is new around here - so new nobody knows what to get for the game. I realize that different people have different likes/dislikes, I just don't want to show up like a loser with lame gear. I see a lot of posts about 24 - 20 inch barrels. Not much for availability where I am - can get a Benelli M2 tactical 18.5". Just wanna know if I am getting some good gear from the guys in the know. RiggerJJ
I would say that most are using 21in barrels, but there are some 24s and 18.5s (and fewer 26s). it is personal preference, some like em long, some like em short... I would say go fer it, get the one that is readily available, play with it for a while, then decide later if you want to get a longer barrel, they are available but take some wait time for delivery. You may not like the ghost ring sight system on the Tactical thou, it is deadly with slugs but can be slow for bird/buck shot. Most use the ribbed barrels for 3 gun. the ghost ring sights system can be changed thou, but takes some gunsmithing... YMMV... jj
Derek45
I called my local Benelli dealer, and ordered a 21" M2 then called brownells and got a NORDIC +5 extension and arrendondo carrier button.
BlackBuzzard
Something about vent rib barrels that just point themselves at the target. Personally I paid another $320 to get a 24" vent rib barrel, replacing my 18.5......and it was well worth it. Benelli M1 of course. BB
FLG8R
I bought a 18.5 inch M1 before 3-gun was cool... Then as I shot more of it, added the nordic +5 tube extension, ghost ring sight fell off the back , never took the time to replace it and just shoot now without it, works just fine. The tube extension extends about 2 inches past the barrel, but no trouble with bird or slug shots. If its a god deal, buy the 18.5 and shoot it like you stole it
