G-ManBart
So I just spent my evening, which was supposed to be spent having a nice dinner and margarita, taking an idiotic, alcoholic, 21 year old bank robber to lockup. Come on, if you're gonna be stupid, can't you do it at least earlier in the day rather than right before closing?

G-ManBart
I thought the newbies got the bank squad. That sucks for you.....he deserved it but it sucks for you. Nah, most folks actually want to work bank robberies....they don't normally happen on weekends anyway, so this was unusual. We had some other stuff going on that was more important and I was asked to help out as I live close by. I guess I shouldn't have answered my phone

CSEMARTIN
I'm not in law enforcement, but I still ended up gettings stuck taking care of a bank robber on a weekend-- I feel your pain brother. A few months ago, the local PD here pulled up on a young man sleeping in his car on the side of the road. When he saw the police, he took off and a high speed chase ensued. The bad guy ended up rolling his car and banging himself up really good. As it turns out, he was wanted for bank robberies in Minnesota (I don't remember how many exactly, but I believe it was three). I was on-call for trauma and got stuck taking care of that little prick the entire weekend. He wasn't an intellectual powerhouse either. Chris iliff
I think I "like" dumb bank robbers. Not raining on your parade, good job, and thanks for doing it G-Man.

LOL....yeah, I see your point. The reality is almost ALL of them are dumb! They get very little cash and risk a minimum of 6-8yrs in jail with no parole (Fed system doesn't have it). Like a couple grand is worth that? Duh....rob someplace else, get more money and risk way less jail time! At the very least this idiot didn't require CSEMARTIN or someone in his profession to help patch folks back together after it went bad.
SiG Lady
Some bad-guys do desperate things for the piddliest amounts of money, I swear: Recent resolved murder case here in our county--> guy takes a hit contract for $2,000 to kill another guy. A murder-for-hire but for the lowest amount of murder-for-hire money I've ever heard of!!! Naturally, he was caught immediately and sentenced to life/without and that was that. The surprising thing was, though, that he donated his entire Harry Potter book collection to my library stacks at the Jail, and I'd had a couple of contacts with him about books he needed while he was at the county lockup. But KILL someone for a mere $2,000...!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????? What WAS he thinking...????? Dumb s**t.
JKSNIPER
Overtime Bart man! I've been called out on Thanksgiving with company in the house and just prior to the meal being served ( I WAS PISSED!) 2 barricaded subjects on seperate Christmas Eves. Innumerable weekends and other holidays being ruined due to the pager/cell phone going off. Goes with the job I guess. Sucks....but it only sucks a lot! We do get a fixed percentage extra for "unscheduled" work...as do all 1811 series folks. SA Friday
I call this the triple S principal: 90% of Law Enforcement is dealing with stupid people doing stupid things stupidly. We all do/did it because we want to catch the other 10% that are truely evil. Stupid is a self-correcting problem, though Not all Federal Agents receive Leap Pay. Active Duty military Feds get jack s%&^ for after hour and weekend calls. Our civilian counterparts in the same Org get it though. Guess who gets the calls. I don't get called out that often, but when I do it's almost always at the worst times.
