I'm going to throw out a couple in a different direction.

This is some of what I grew up on

I was born one morning, it was drizzlin' rain

Fightin' and trouble are my middle name

I was raised in the cane brake by an old mama lion

Ain't no high-toned woman make me walk the line

Or

These two riverboats, racin' up the river,

Then ol' Dixie runs aground

There she stands high and dry,

And we're walkin' right on by

I can see the lights of town

We're gonna roll that cotton down

Or

The hunter is a cheerful sight. His hearth is warm, his fire bright.

His songs, they fill the winter night among the leaves so green-o.

To my hey down, down. Hoe down, down. Hey down, hoe down, derry, derry down.

Among the leaves so green-o.

:sight:

Good Luck!

And remember that I have and eclectic taste in Music :goof:

The first one is 16 tons, Tennessee Ernie Ford. Dang I is old. later rdd

Here's a new one:

I felt the panic that they disguise

In the forms of laws of every size

I've heard the teachers whine and make me drop out like flies

But you know they teach you nonsense, cause they can't blind your eyes

I've seen the fools gold that they pawn off as their prize

Since only one of my last four have been identified, I'll name them

1. Beds are Burning by Midnight Oil, from the album Diesel and Dust

2. 16 Tons by Tenesee Ernie Ford - Good Id Bubber, and you can't be that old, just have old parents who raised you on this music ;)

3. This Old River Boat by the New Christy Minstrels

4. The Hunter by The Kinston Trio - Sirveyr was half way there.

Does anyone have an idea what Sirveyr's last contribution is?

Hint: The founding member of this band released an album earlier this year titled "True Love Cast Out All Evil". It was his first album of new material in 14 years.

Here is mine

The Southlands bleeding

the union,s pierced the heart of dixie

still our generals are leading

with the courage to set us free

maybe it,s time to count up all of the cost

we're just hopin there be some changes

wishful thinkin, we're headed down hill

the only way now is surrender, but we're fighting still

I always thought that was titled pyromania, is it rock of ages?

I suppose it could also be that offpsring song pretty fly for a white guy, they use the same opening.

I can't believe this thread is still going :D

When I see you smilin'

It takes my pain away

Oh, there's no denyin'

Can't keep away from the flame

Flame on, indeed! :roflol:

Reviving the epic thread with "Can't Keep Away from the Flame" by Def Leppard

Here is another:

We is screamin' through the valley

Where the Nishnabotna flows

Through the mud and crud and cornfields

Where the mari-ju-wana grows

'Cross the railroad tracks of Persia

Down the hills and up the dale

Had a CJ-5 with a four-wheel drive

And Smokey on my tail.

Holy Shit, I love this album! I remember listening to the entire Wolf Creek Pass (C.W. McCall) record when I was a kid. I'll bet that I could remeber all of the lyrics to every song if I were to hear them again. "Wolf Creek Pass" and "Classified" were my favorites.

BTW, your lyrics are from "Four Wheel Drive".

How about "Renting a U drive Marmy Jeep type car from a feller named Qbolski, Rented for 30 bucks a day, buy your gas along the way, take a rabbit's foot and leave a pint of blood for a deeposit" ?

Google is not needed for this one. It is Sacred Reich bitches!!!!!!!!!!! METAL FOREVER!!!!!

I discovered these guys in '87, at the impressionable age of 13, with the Ignorance record. I didn't fully appreciate their awesomeness until The American Way was released.

See a word of suffering

Money sucking greed

Watch the human gluttony

All these mouths to feed

I wasn't familiar with this one. A quick Google revealed "Contortion" by Fight. I am Priest fan, but never really gave Fight a chance. They were around when I was getting heavy into Death Metal, so Fight didn't fit into that genre. I will be checking out their stuff. I think I may actually have their record...somewhere. The cover looks familiar?

First "Heavy Metal" Song I ever heard.... another easy one

Big black shape with eyes of fire

Telling people their desire

Satan's sitting there, he's smiling

Watches those flames get higher and higher

Oh no, no, please God help me
