XRe
ok, dave...try this one:As she abused a sausage pattie, And said why don't you treat me mean? I admit, I had to look it up I'm not a Zappa guy, dude, sorry... Although the man had some freaking amazing drummers in his cadre at various points of time... Alright Dave, here's one for you:Temptation- Why won't you leave me alone? Lurking every corner. Everywhere I go Self control- Don't turn your back on me now when I need you most Constant pressure tests my will My will or my wont My self control escapes from me still......... Oh no you di'int... Dude, my band opened for Dream Theater in Atlanta on the Images and Words tour, before that album really hit. I sat and drank beers w/ Mike Portnoy all night after the show. Very very cool dude. Awake was not my favorite DT album, though.... But The Mirror isn't a bad tune... Actually, they kind of lost me after the IaW albume - that one, and the song Change of Seasons are the only DT stuff I still dig... Anyway... I need to come up w/ a good one for you

XRe
Ok, Clint... Try this one... Self-absorbed, I had lost my faith, I was breaking down from your apathy, Now it feeds my hatred for all you stand for I can't live like this one minute more So, just how much blood do you have to swallow? Before you can lead, you must refuse to follow. Now I bite the hand that starves me Don't look so surprised, its you that created me

Round_Gun_Shooter
See what you can do with this Was it already there in the womb? Were we pulled out way too soon? Were we quiet too long? Were we too small? Or were we dropped on the floor? Could it be something we ate? Did they let us stay up too late? Were there not enough rules? Did we get too much love? Was it something they taught us in school? 'Cause inside something bad's awakened The evil opens it's eyes The temper's rising and the house is shaking To get out is no longer an option These are the kids of the beast

outerlimits
here's an old one: Newcastle Brown, I'm tellin' you, it can sure smack you down; Take a greasy whore and a rollin' dance floor, It's got your head spinnin' round. If you live on the road, well there's a new highway code; You take the urban noise with some dirt with poison, It's gonna lessen your load. Fullauto_Shooter
OK - a REALLY Old one. There'll be Smoke on the Water, on the land and the sea, When our Army and our Navy overtakes the enemy, There'll be smoke on the mountains where the heathen Gods stay, And the sun that is rising will go down on that day. For there is a great destroyer made of fire and flesh and steel, Rolling toward the foes of freedom, they'll go down beneath it's wheel, They'll be nothing left but vultures to inhabit all that land, When our modern ships and bombers make a graveyard of Japan Hint - it spent 13 weeks at the top of the charts in 1944 Edited March 18, 2009 by Fullauto_Shooter
ken hebert
Change of genre. "I left Oklahoma drivin' in a Pontiac Just about to lose my mind I was goin' on to Arizona, maybe on to California Where all the people live so fine My baby said I was crazy, my momma called me lazy I was goin' to show 'em all this time 'Cause you know I ain't no fool an' I don't need no more schoolin' I was born to just walk the line." If ya'll don't get this one fast, I'll be mighty dissapointed... Edited March 19, 2009 by ken hebert
