meanmotorscooter
Is anyone using the Little Dandy Powder Measure to load 45 ACP with Hodgdon Titegroup powder? I'm trying to figure out which number rotor to buy to throw a 4.5-4.6 grain charge. Thanks!
Guy Neill
According to RCBS's chart, rotor 5 gives 4.4gr of Titegroup, and rotor 6 is listed as 4.7gr. The chart is available at the RCBS website in the powder measure instructions. I've not tried these, and recommend anyone should confirm what the rotor throws before trusting it. meanmotorscooter
I've not tried these, and recommend anyone should confirm what the rotor throws before trusting it. That's what I was hoping to find, someone who was already using this combo, so I don't have to buy multiple rotors.
Guy Neill
Even with someone using them, yours would be different. You still need to test one you get to determine what it yields. Start with the one just under the one just under the charge you want, test it, then slightly enlarge the charge cavity until it gives the charge you want. Multiple rotors are not bad to have on hand. meanmotorscooter
Thanks Guy. Another question. Does the nozzle on the little dandy fit right into the case mouth or do I have to use a funnel for each case? Guy Neill
Unless they've changed them, it should fit on the case directly. Think of it as a small reverse, or inverted, funnel. I don't think that would be anything that would be changed. A common way of using it is by hand, placing it on a case, charging the case and moving on to the next. meanmotorscooter
My Little Dandy arrived yesterday from Midway. With the #6 rotor, it throws a consistent 4.5 grains of titegroup. It took me all of 15 minutes to charge 150 cases. This thing is great.
