rfwobbly
The National shooting Sports Foundation has just posted their 2009 Junior USA Shooting Team information on the NSSF web site. Coaches of any organized youth shooting group (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, school rifle team, etc.) can apply for the free patches for their youth shooters in rifle and/or shotgun. Each youth, after completing the target, will then receive a multi-color patch they can wear on their shooting vest or uniform. Targets consist of a downloaded file the coach prints. Patches are then supplied to your youth shooting group free of charge based on input from the adult shooting coach. My Boy Scout Troop has been using this system for about 5 years to stimulate interest in youth shooting, and it works. The Scouts love shooting, and show a lot of pride wearing their earned patches. There is a new and different patch each year. The targets also make a great way to allow visitors to fire 5 shots and experience what your youth shooting program is all about. The "bait" for you is that the visitor will have to come back to pick up his/her patch !! It's a great way to build visitor traffic and thereby get your program some exposure. The 2009 patches will be available starting March 1. For more info see this web site: http://www.nssf.org/JrUSA/order2.cfm
