Rptstoy1
What is the shortest 9 major load ( OAL ) I can use loading with SV mags without using spacers? thanks for any input.
HSMITH
I would like to see OAL in SV mags at 1.17" or longer. They will runs shorter but the longer we take the loads the more we eliminate a variable. For factory length ammo I recommend spacers in the SV mags. This isn't a big deal at all unless you are trying to run spacer mags and spacerless mags. With spacers you need to maintain an OAL less than 1.16" and that is slightly shorter than what I consider ideal in an SV without a spacer. TONS of guys are running spacer mags for the most part and have popped for one or two expensive SV based tuned big sticks that run the same ammo with no issue, but I am a belt and suspenders and underpants sort of guy, I want it all so my hiney isn't exposed unintentionally..... Flatland Shooter
I have a mix of STI and SVI mags. Everything seems to run in the SVI mags (some tuned, some not). The only STI mags I can keep running reliably are those I purchased from Brazos. Brazos recommends (requires?) on their tuned (no spacer) STI mags a minimum bullet length of 1.200". I run 1.195" on all my 9x19 major loads with no problems. (MG 124 gr JHP). Bill

Aristotle
my Match Major load set at 1.175" OAL But after a range session, I found a bag of my minor loads at the bottom of my range bag, that are loaded to 1.145 OAL (4.3gn of Titegroup, 124gn CMJ), and my SV and SPS mags ran them flawlessly. Haven't tried them in my STI mags.
