Gerry Cockrell
I am interested in developing a major power factor load for my new .40 open gun using VV N340 powder and the Nosler 135 gr.. JHP bullet. My gun has a Tribred barrel. Has anyone done any load work with this combination of powder and bullet?
BigDave
Beven Grams has a similar set up. From what he told me in an email, I would start at 7.0 gr and work up. Check VV's data first though.
Gerry Cockrell
Big Dave: Thanks for the reply. I have communicated previously with Bevin. He is shooting the 125 gr. Sinterfire bullet with 7.6 gr. of VV 340. He did tell me that he shot the 135 gr. JHP with around 7.0 gr. of Hodgden Universal before he went to the Sinterfire bullet. The VV loading data does not list any loads for bullet weights less than 155 gr. Both Nosler and Hodgden do have load data for 135 gr. JHP bullets but do not include the VV340 powder.
