Whoah! I just shot up $2.50 worth of ammo!

Had a chance to put my new STI .22 conversion through a few paces yesterday, and am pretty impressed. First and foremost, a hundred round practice session cost me less than $3.00, as opposed to the $25 or more I'd normally spend.

The .22 also made it crystal clear that I have some nasty flinches and other trigger habits. The lack of appreciable recoil made it pretty clear that the fliers and large groups were the result of sloppy trigger work.

I do find that its hard to shoot fast with the .22. I'm so used to the recoil of .40 and .45, that it takes me a second to realize that the sights are back on target and the gun is waiting on me. I'm assuming this will change as I shoot the .22 more and get used to it.

I am having at least one failure to feed each time I run through a magazine (10 rds). It seems that the mag doesn't always place the rim of the round high enough for the slide to catch. Not sure if this is a mag problem, ammo problem, or slide problem. Any suggestions?

I have had this problem with a couple of my conversions. A STI mag release button fixed it. The STI button holds the mag higher in the frame. A little over sized in just the right places I guess.
