M&P Pro front sight height options

My buddy’s M&P Pro is shooting about 4 inches high at 25 yards with a stock front sight and a Warren Tac rear running a 124 grn load at 130 PF. Does anyone make a higher front FO sight than the stock S&W sight (it’s .180 I think)?

Speed Shooter Specialties front sights are great - I highly recommend them for non-standard sight heights.

But for what it's worth, I've been fine-tuning my POI with my M&P Pro as well, and one thing I've noticed with this gun is that the POI when shot with a loose grip off a sandbag rest is not necessarily the same as when shot with a regular (standing freestyle) firm 2-hand shooting grip. Before changing sights, I'd be sure to do the zeroing in the style that the gun will be shot in a match! : )

I had the same problem with using a Warren front and rear on my 9L. I still use the Warren rear but I am using a Speed Shooter Specialties .195" tall x .115" serrated front for Atlanta Arms 147gr subsonic. It hits low using 115gr FMJ full power ammo so I may shorten it to .190" and try it out and then .185" if it's still too tall. Warren fronts are .160" high. IIRC the factory front is .180" tall.

NRA Basic Pistol method is to have students learn to shot with their wrists beyond a carpet roll or sandbags, then stand up for unsupported 2 hand shooting. Place the feet flat outside the chairlegs, sit down and assume a proper 2 handed grip, then extend the arms and lower the body into the shooting position. Placing the gun directly on a sandbag or shooting platform changes the recoil characteristics of the gun and changes POI when shot 2 handed unsupported.

The gun on the sandbag will show bullet/powder accuracy while the wrists on the bag shows where the guns POI is.
