safenate
Well it seems AR/AKs are off the shelf and magazine prices have gone thru the roof. I just ordered up almost 20k rounds from MG and aside from a two week delay for 55 fmj's, everything seems stable in the reloading world. I'll be home in a few weeks, anyone noticing primer/powder prices going crazy back CONUS? Thanks for input.
larry cazes
Primers are rapidly becoming unobtainable. Winchester Small rifle are out of stock everywhere. No Joke.
revchuck
Luckily, my local supplier still has a good stock of primers. I just bought a case each of WLP and WSP, and it was more than my truck payment (I have a cheap truck). I'll probably get a case of Fed 100s for my round guns this week. Still have a case of 150s. buddy_fuentes
Chuck, they are not in short supply around here. As you know, Larry has shelves full of primers and powder. Several other stores/suppliers in the area are loaded as usual. That may be a West Coast problem. Buddy
Boats
Lead and Brass should come down, scrap yard selling price of lead had dropped by half. They are not buying metals of any sort unless they can get it cheap. Chinese have about completly stopped buying American scrap. Chinese demand was the main reason for high prices last few years Boats

I don't like wasting Federal 100s on bottomfeeders.
inkedshooter
Have'nt noticed price changes here. The main shop I go to has about the same quanity primers, power, bullets in stock as they have always had, but wished they stocked more.

Chinese demand was the main reason for high prices last few yearsBoats copper has come done with alot of the commodities, but yet bullets are at the same price, go figure. Can I use small magnum primers as opposed to small rifle primers, or could I cause a problem? The reason I ask is that I have lots of magnum primers
Boats
Last primer shortage I used Mag large rifle primers to shoot silhouette, regular primers were not available, Worked up loads from scratch and ended up with slightly less powder for same velocity. Proceed with caution but yes it can be done. Boats
waxman
There does seem to be a shortage of SP primers from the larger sources. Midway, Natchez, and others. I just went to a large local store, and bought 15 k, and they looked at me like I was crazy. They have not had too much demand for them yet. I know Powder valley still had alot as of Friday, but they require a DL before shipment. Our local chainstore rip off artists are now selling them for $3.80 per 100. They only have 1500 in stock, so I wont even bother with them. Seems like powder so far has been uneffected
rfwobbly
I understand that Berry Bullets dropped that ridiculous "lead surcharge" in the last month. So at least bullets might get reasonable again.
shred
I imagine the usual hoarders snatched up all the loose primers they could get. Once supply catches up, they should be available.
LPatterson
I think I resemble that as I picked up the last 1500 Federal 150 primers Scheels had and I don't even plan to shoot revo next year. Twist my arm Bubba.

Fed, Win, and CCI small pistol, too. Mag Tech SP too. Plenty of Fed 150's.. Come up to the cities and check them out at Gunstop Reloading Supplies Inc. 14704 Excelsior Blvd. Minnetonka, MN 55345 1-800-645-7644 (952) 474-0211
Blueridge
Well my local store had all of the Winchester primers except large rifle magnum, which I need for reloading 460 S&W. I ehappened to be in Myrtle Beach SC last weekend and went to Bas Pro Shops Outdoor World, where I got the remnants of the last bow they had out for sale (600 primers). They may have had more in the stock room, but I did not ask, as I was happy to get the ones that I got. Powder has not been a problem for me, but I use Hodgdon/IMR and Winchester powders. Can't believe people would pay more for plated bullets than jacketed.
