JimmyZip
Well, I picked up my pistolas from Irv today and I am very happy. The low mounted Dawson rear sights have a deep notch, how I did without I have no idea. Dryfire was crazy-good with target aquisistion quicker than I remember. The dovetailed front sight is a dream, will be getting that done to my other pistol in January. Also, I milled up some extended basepads on the way home from Barsto. I installed them on six of my mags and couildn't be happier. The positive feel that they impart has made a significant improvement in my dryfire reloads! They are easier to grab out of the pouch, and I made them out of billets of aluminum so they add weight to the mag making them fall easier from the magwell. Lastly, the magwells that Irv installed are sweet. They are another thing I can't beleive I waited for. I am going to shoot 'til my arms are rubber tomorrow. If you are out at PSGC tomorrow, I'll be the guy standing in a mound of 9mm brass with the s%&$-eating grin on my face. I hope the hole I wore in my thumb during dryfire tonight doesnt hurt too much. itchy
What did you have done to your pistols? Irv is great to work with! Seiichi
JimmyZip
Itchy, I have a couple of HiPowers. Irv cut a dovetail into the slide for the front sight on one and added a set of Dawson rears that he milled the slide for and they are great. He added magwells to both pistols, and an extended/ported barrel to the other. The pistol with the extended barrel will go back for the same sights early next year, and also a trigger job. He also added an extended safety and removed the mag safety from this pistol.
