eerw
Was cruising Gunbroker and GunsAmerica wasting some time and found what is listed as a WCPI custom Springfield P9. was looking at the photo and at first glance thought what a nice gun..didn't know George Huening had done a full profile style comp.. then it hit me...this is my old Springfield P9 that I had built in 1992. It was actually built by Gary Kimballl of Colorado Springs and it had a buttload of work done to it. WCPI match barrel, WCPI match hammer, beavertail welded, triggerguard squared, magwell welded, backstrap checkered, checkering patch welded into front strap, triple port comp mated to slide and slide milled so barrel and comp can be removed from the front and a lot of subtle other things.. looks like now its missing one side of the ambi safety and at least one or both of the set screws to held the ejector housing in place.. Almost like seeing an old friend with all the matches it shot and practice we did.. Edited November 18, 2008 by eerw

I guess that's for a "what I hate" write up, but I bet we're not alone.. Wish I could pick it up and hold it for you!!
