cybrosh
Since I've never installed a rear sight before....anything I should know in particular? Red/Green/Blue loctite? Punch it out with wood/plastic? Alignment? CHeers
cybrosh
Well, Removed the elevation screw, took the whole upper section of the sight apart. Was left with the base. Had a tiny allen screw, and once I've removed it, used a wooden hammer to take the base out(left to right). What Loctite should I use for the base? I can't recognize the type by looking at the residue(yellow). And what should I use for the small allen screw on the base?
Jasonub
red would do nicely. if you want to replace it in the future heat it up and it breaks the seal quickly
cybrosh
That's kind of what I'm afraid of Had encountered one too many grip screws with red loctite. A soldering iron didn't do the job...had to use a dremel. I know red loctite isn't that scary, and I'll probably use it in the end, just checking my options. The dovetail and sight both have yellowish residue on them. Is that blue loctite?
