texasag93
Anyone shot these 220 in a 40? Friend of mine gave me several 220 precision bullets to try. I figured I would load a few and see how they do. I loaded a dummy round to 1.190 just to see if it would chamber in my gun. It did, so I have to try these huge chunks of lead in the 40. Al Capizzo
I've shot 220's in .40 for awhile and I like them. I don't remember what load I'm using but I asked for data a few months ago here, so if you try a search something should pop up. Al
benny hill
they were ok when the power factor was 175, but with it lowered the gun cycles very slow. most of us like a fast gun & use 165 or 180.
Klev
Texasag93, I use this load with 220gr precision bullets: WSP primer, various brass, 4.4gr VV n340, OAL. 1.142, PF 173-175, gun: PO 16-40 The load is clean and consistent. The gun might cycle slow for most shooters BUT the recoil is soft and it's really easy to "follow" the front sight. With OAL 1.190 you will need approx. 4.5 - 4.6gr VV n340. When developing your own load try heavier springs (#14 works best for me )
