G-ManBart
I didn't say I didn't see the dot lift and come back... what I said was I don't care where it goes. I also said that I call the shot and move on.. you can't do that without knowing where the dot was when the shot broke. And Larry said he doesn't "know or care" (eta - which you said you agreed with)... and my point is that if you don't know where the dot went, you didn't see it depart - and therefore, you didn't really call the shot. You can fool yourself all day into thinking that you're really seeing what's happening without seeing where the dot goes when you break a shot... but you're not. The fact that a bullet ends up where you think you last saw the dot is coincidence, at that point (one that may happen a lot for you, but not one that can be relied upon). You also missed the point that - you may be shooting quickly, but you are not even beginning to approach the potential of your ability or your platform's if you're not seeing the things I described... Please return to fooling yourself... I guess I'm deluded then... Cause I rarely throw a mike or NS and my splits are under .10. I know I'm calling the shots because some times I call one off and stack one on at that speed too. Your skill level is a lot higher than mine, so I will not dismiss what you say. I'm only and A and have been shooting just over a year, so there is a lot I have to learn yet. Thanks for taking the time to explain what you see and why... I may come back to it some day and say Damn Dave was right, but I feel good about my ability to call shots and my splits being under .12 and often under .10 JT, Slight thread drift, but I'm curious at what range you expect to be able to shoot a .10 split with 100% confidence to an open target. I can shoot similar splits on close targets (like a 7yd bill drill for example), but I honestly don't pay much attention to what my splits are so I don't have much of a gauge for longer ranges and thought you might know yours. I figure saving a couple thousandths is fine, but I'm working on tenths (or more) with footwork and transitions etc right now. R,

G-ManBart
I moved this to it's own thread - Admin I was sorta asking in the context of the amount of dot rise and how that could/would impact his splits at distance, but I guess I should have made that more clear. On it's own it doesn't really mean much so you can delete it if you'd like. R,
38supPat
I think you'll find that at the distance you would be pulling .10 splits in a match, the targets are so close that the dot wouldn't leave the A zone anyways so how high the dot tracks is kind of irrelevant.
