SVI4ME
I got a new fiber optic sight for my SA SS gun that has a staked front sight. Does a gunsmith need to install this or can I ? How do you do it? Edited September 11, 2008 by SVI4ME
HSMITH
Dovetail it, it is a much better way. If you have it staked have someone that has screwed it up plenty of times before do it, staking them and getting them to last a while requires screwing some up first...... I got the staking tool from Brownells and the holding jig and my life has been a lot easier for staked sights. I usually try to talk customers into dovetails, but if done properly a staked sight will last fine. Whether it be narrow or wide tenon if done correctly it will be fine, if not it will shoot off in the middle of a match.

Just a chance to improve your 'point' shooting. Use the FORCE Luke.... Sorry man, couldn't help it.
jmax
I lost the rear sight blade on a Bomar sight at the 50 yard line at Regina Sask in I believe 1980 or 81. Yes my son I did have the force with me and got all long range hits, they were not great but considering what I had to deal with I was thrilled.
