Jon Merricks
Below is an email that I just received. Tommy has built several guns for me over the years and I will not only miss him for that but the good times I had sitting and talking with him. He will be missed. Tommy Abernathy passed away today at approximately 1:00PM. His immediate family and close friends were constantly at his side providing support, love and caring. I'm sure this was very comforting for Tommy. Tommy was very supportive to everyone in our league, both experienced and beginner shooters. He always went the extra mile to assist us in anyway he could. He was also good at ribbing us too. I'm sure everyone holds a special place in their hearts for Tommy. That's just the kinda guy he was. We will miss him. But, we will never forget him. Our thoughts are with Mary Lee, Jeff, Carmen, immediate family and friends. Funeral arrangements hasn't been fully established at this time. When known I will send this information through e-mail.

leam
I gave the family a card from the "Brian Enos Forum" and let them know lots of people were lifting them up in prayer. Leam
Philip Dedmon
I will miss him allot. He was the most knowledgeable 1911/2011 gunsmith I know. There are a number of things that I accomplished in shooting that were because of him and I will always remember what he did for me. I know I told you many times how much, but thanks again Tommy. John2A
The service was today and it was a fantastic celebration of Tommy's life and his enjoyment of wife, kids and grand kids. He will be deeply missed by all that ever met him. Tommy was some one that you could listen to for hours and always learn something new. I had the privilege to meet him only a short time ago or so it seems. I wish the best to his family and all the people that met him.

Radical Precision Designs
Tommy's legacy will endure ... through the many lives he touched, both by his personal care of the world around him and his work which will be cherished by those fortunately enough to have acquired it. He will watch over us all, under God's smile. His presence will always be there.
