little_kahuna
Does anyone feel COMPLETELY naked when they are not wearing their gun? I was just playing XBox, and I had this insane urge to wear my gun, as if I was naked without it. It's not the first time I've felt this way, but this time was pretty serious. So now I'm just wearing my race-rig around the house. Is this normal for active competitive shooters? Just wondering if I'm alone or you all feel the same sometimes. GentlemanJim
As a person that has had a handgun within arms reach all my adult life. I do understand that feeling...If I forget my carry gun at home I get that feeling However If I am around dozens or even hundreds of armed people most I dont even know I feel perfectly happy... el pres
Well, I got to do it.... If you lived in a "Free" state then you would not feel naked because it "would" always be on !! At the store, at the restaurant, etc.. When I do visit your republik, at night I maneuver into a fetal position and just shake !!! little_kahuna
I can definitely see your point of view. If perhaps I wasn't in the People's Republik of Commifornia, then I might perhaps be much more comfortable. lol ...but sadly I am trapped here...for now... lol *still feels naked* lol -Nick Nick-No I have no had this urge. I do however like being naked though. That is a totally different subject

But should I venture out without one I feel guilty as if I'm being irresponsible and thoughtless. It's like going on a date with out condoms or leaving the car running and unlocked when you go into the convenience store; it is just plain wrong, much like leaving the baby or the dog locked in the car in the parking lot to cook while you go into that nice restaurant for dinner. little_kahuna
I meant FEEL naked, as in: missing something crucial to your well-being. ...not REALLY naked lol... I just took my gun off to go take a walk, and I felt as if I was missing something again lol when I move out, I'm going to move to a Free state where I can open-carry!!! lol -Nick
Jman
To answer your first question. No. And your second. Only when I'm preparing to do a dry fire drill or adjust the gear for an upcoming match. Your attraction probably reflects the joy and satisfaction you derive from the activity it represents. That's OK. Just don't get carried away. This stuff can be dangerous. Jim Edited June 26, 2008 by JimmyM
Franksremote
It's the new blaster you're sporting Nick Considering I carry a gun 6 days a week, I actually look forward to the one day I don't have to touch one. It's kinda hard being a couch potatoe on Monday with one on
Johann the Horrible
I always carry, even to church. South Africa is not a country to be in without a gun.

RacerX1166
Funny you mention feeling naked without your gun. I'm used to walking around matches and practice putting my hand on my gun on a regular basis (for both insurance that it's staying where it's supposed to as well as remembering where it is when I need to draw). I've found myself doing the same thing at work with my Crackberry! I'm more than a little disturbed about the whole parallel. Went on vacation the other week and didn't have either to be a safety blanket. Good thing there were plenty of bars at the resort!
