downzero
I shot with Frank Garcia last Friday. I learned a lot, but have never shot that much that fast. 700 rounds in about 2 hours. As the gun, an STI Eagle .40, got hot the hammer started following intermittently. On the drive to the airport, I ordered a Cylinder and Slide Trigger set, figuring something was worn out. I took the gun to a gunsmith today. He measured the stock parts and said he couldn't find anything wrong and that I shouldn't be having that problem. He suggested I call STI. STI said the grip screws were probably lose, which they were. My question, has anyone experienced this? I'm going to shoot Wed. so I'll find out if that fixed my "issue." rkgsmith
Your smith is right. The grip basically holds the trigger in alignment, if the grip moves so does the trigger. You can also lose tension on the mainspring. Tighten the grip screws and apply a little lock-tight (a little). I have seen and solved this problem several times.
