-JQ-
AEY Inc., a Miami-based company, is facing allegations that it violated a U.S. Army contract agreement when it provided the old Chinese cartridges rather than the Hungarian-made ammunition it promised. So does this mean we don't even manufacture our own ammo? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,342268,00.html
Matt Cheely
As I read it it's only for Afgan forces, not US.
boo radley
Regardless of what you think of the New York Times, a more complete and comprehensive article on the subject is interesting: Sucky Ammo Warning -- not for the faint of stomache. JFlowers
Okay, falsifing document is one thing, and they should be nailed for it. But the TIMES article makes out like ammo is no good after just a few years. Thats BS. I have ammunition from the late 1800s and early 1900s that fires just fine. And no one sees anything wrong with selling 1940 stocks of 8mm Mauser into the US market. The ammo packing I can see detriorating and being a pain in the butt, but both articles say that there have been no reported problems with the ammo itself. And personally I don't see where a full page write up on the fact that some dude argued with his girlfriend and that arguement may have gotten physical has anything to do with the ammo. bp78
Story just made the Fox frontpage too: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,342855,00.html If he loses his contracts maybe we can have him arrange an "Albanian" ammo group-buy. He was paying $22/1000 (I assume for 7.62x39), I'd love to see some 9mm priced like that. Young, dumb, and ambitious is usual not without it's bumps in life.
