forthill
I have 140mm mags with Dawson SNL base pads and Grams followers. The gun will stop before it goes into battery with 2 rounds left. It appears when the second to last round moves foward it is pulling the last round along. The nose of the bottom round is catching on the front edge of the mag tube and the round going into the chamber will not slide in. If the mag is dropped 1/16 of an inch the round will easily slip into battery. If the magazine is removed there will be a mark on the nose of the bottom round bullet where it was digging into the magazine.
cking
sounds like a weak spring, badly tuned mag, especially if only one mag is doing this.

forthill
These are STI mag tubes. I am using an 11 coil Gram spring and the problem occurs with three of the four mags I am currently working with. It was suggested by a fellow shooter to grind the front of the mag tube down just a little. I am not talking about the feed lips but the actual front of the tube where it angles down. What do you think? Edited February 25, 2008 by forthill
