We live in Scottsdale which is the north-east corner of Phoenix. It is a great place to live. It has a reptuation as being snooty (Snotsdale) that I have found to be undeserving. There are a very large number of wealthy people, exotic cars and very attractive people but everyone has been exceptionally nice. Not sure about hospitals, etc. I'm actually up in the north portion of Scottsdale and it is about a 45 min drive to Rio which is actually southwest of Phoenix. Worth every min of the drive. Good to see you've come to your senses. I live in Gilbert but my son was born at a hospital in Scottsdale (about 30 minutes from me) and we loved the facilities up there. I really don't know much about the medical facilities in the area though. I do know the housing market has dipped so now is a good time to buy here.
