Jay6
What do you guys do as far as training the night before a match? Live fire? Do you just work on the fundamentals? Do you just take it easy and relax?
XRe
I prefer to mostly relax. I'll usually do a small amount of dry fire - just some basic draws, and a few reloads. This does a couple of things for me - I can verify that all the gear survived the trip to the match correctly and is properly working, and it allows me to just get settled and feel prepared. I'm not going to improve any skills in any sort of usable fashion at that point - and doing a ton of work is actually more likely to degrade the impending performance. All I want to do is remind myself of what I'm doing, and that all my ducks are in a row for the match.
gunsablazin
I might dry fire my gun a few times while I'm getting my gear together, but mostly I just relax, watch some movies with my kids etc. For me really practicing the night before a match is like cramming for an exam, not the optimum thing to do.
