jdk62738super
Went to my local Gander MT to get some primers for my 38 super. I use winchester small rifle primers. All they had were federal small magunam primers. Can they be used for the super. The load is 125 gr bullet with 7.6 of IMR 7625. Also will they work for 40 S&W, with clays and 200gr bullet. Thanks John

dansy
All I used in all my gun 38 SC, 9mm minor and major, 40SW are the Federal small Pistol Magnum Primers.....easier to find the the non magnum.
turbocomp38s
If they have federal 205 small rifle primers, they work very well too with 38 super.
Hoofy
After reading much about the whole primer issue, I've decided to go to WSPM's for my minor loads and WSR's for major (40S&W). WSP's vs. WSPM's in 9mm Minor meant 3 - 3.5 PF over the Chrono. I stick with Winchester because they work better than others in my old press. Now that I have a RF100 and I've tried different primers, Winchesters fill the tube more reliably. Ordered some from PV at almost half the price of Gander Mtn.
